Overview

Legal work happens in Slack — now Aline does too. Just @mention Aline in any Slack channel to ask questions about your contracts, do legal research, draft documents, or launch agentic workflow processes.

With Aline AI in Slack, you can:

  • Ask questions about your contracts and get instant, sourced answers

  • Launch full agentic workflows — like vendor onboarding — from a single message

  • Let Aline's agents run privacy and security reviews automatically

  • Route the request for legal review and get AI-proposed redlines on the incoming contract

Step 1: Start a Workflow from Slack

Mention @Aline in any channel and describe what you need, for example:

"I need to onboard a new vendor. Can you help me out?"

Aline picks up the request right where a legal or business user submits it — in Slack — and builds a plan to launch the right process from within Aline.

Step 2: Pick a Template and Fill Out the Intake

Aline searches the available templates in your Aline instance and asks which onboarding path fits. In a vendor onboarding scenario, Aline will typically identify Vendor Review as the best match.

Once you select a template, Aline asks you to fill out the intake form your legal team has configured — directly in Slack. For example, when onboarding a new customer success tool, you might provide a few details about the software and then upload the vendor's Terms of Service for review.

Submit the intake from Slack, and Aline launches the process. You'll approve the launch inside the Aline application.

Step 3: Let Aline's Agents Run the Process

Once launched, you can open the workflow in Aline and see everything running — including that it was launched from Slack, with the completed intake form attached and the Slack connection visible on the process.

From here, Aline's agents get to work on the tasks your team has configured in the template:

  • Privacy review — Aline reviews the incoming document and the intake form to determine whether personal information is being shared. If a privacy review is needed, it's assigned to the right person. If not — for example, if Aline determines the vendor's Terms of Service doesn't involve personal information sharing — the task auto-completes.

  • Security review — Because onboarding involves access to Aline's systems, Aline reads the task and assigns it to the teammate tagged for security review — in this example, Joe.

  • Legal review — After the privacy and security tasks complete, the process routes to legal, where Aline runs your AI playbook to check terms and conditions and proposes redlines on the incoming contract.

💡 A business user can kick off a vendor review in about thirty seconds — your legal team then receives a fully-triaged, playbook-reviewed workflow waiting for them.

Step 4: Ask Questions About Your Contracts

You can also mention @Aline to ask questions about your existing agreements, for example:

"When does the Intercom agreement expire?"

Aline searches your entire contract corpus, identifies the correct document, and answers directly in Slack — tagging the source file so you can verify it without leaving the channel.
