Step 1: Create a template

Creating a template in Aline is the first step to automating your legal contracts. Templates are very useful so that your team has an entire set of re-usable documents to use for common business scenarios.

In this guide, we'll be creating an NDA template and workflow that shows how to automate NDAs. This same process can be used to automate contracts for new hires, sales agreements, new partnerships, and more! Let's dive in 🀿 .

Great, we've created an NDA template. Now let's create a workflow and add the NDA template to the workflow so we can go 1 step further in automating our legal process.

Step 2: Create a template workflow

A template workflow is a collection of templates and automation (steps) around how those templates should be routed to different recipients. There are a couple very powerful benefits of using template workflows for your organization:

  1. The automation and steps about how the templates (e.g., NDA) are used in your organization is pre-defined so everyone follows the same process.

  2. "Who has the pen" is completely transparent to your team because all team members can view workflow steps and understand exactly where a contract is in its lifecycle. No more team frustration around opaque contract processes!

  3. Template workflows are very flexible by using roles.

  4. Connecting your agreements with other systems becomes trivial ensuring your contracts are in sync with other software that your organization uses.

Check out the video below for adding templates to a template workflow and setting forth your automation and steps for the template workflow.

Success! Now you've learned how to create a template workflow. The next step is to let your team launch the template workflow.

Step 3: Launch the template workflow

Once you have a template workflow created, letting your team launch it is as easy as:

  1. Ensuring the template workflow is shared with your organization or the specific user(s) that should have access to launch the workflow.

  2. Navigating to the templates section of Aline's app.

  3. Selecting the workflow to launch and clicking "Launch workflow" πŸš€.

Take a look at the video walkthrough below to see the process in action πŸ’ͺ.

After you've launched the template workflow, ensure all recipients complete the workflow steps and then you can send your documents for signature.

Step 4: Track the contract workflow

After your team starts launching workflows, it's important to keep everything organized πŸ—„οΈ. Aline has a number of different ways that teams can effectively collaborate on contracts and ensure team members are always in sync. Explore those ways in the video below.

Using the above guide, you can automate your legal contracts in Aline using templates and template workflows. Feel free to create as many template workflows as your team needs, whether they are workflows for hiring new employees, getting sales deals done, or more!
