🧭 Overview
With Reporting in Aline, you can:
Review individual documents using AI chat or built-in prompts
Run bulk analysis across large document sets
Create custom properties to extract structured data
Filter and segment documents using labels and other metadata
This makes it easy to move from document-level review to portfolio-level insights.
Create a Report for Bulk Analysis
To analyze multiple agreements at once:
Click Reports in the navigation menu.
Select Create New Report.
Name your report and open it.
Once inside a report, you’ll see all documents currently stored in your repository.
Step 1: Filter the Documents You Want to Analyze
To narrow your analysis to specific agreements:
Use the Filters panel at the top of the report.
Add as many filters as needed.
Each prompt you run becomes available as a filter.
Apply filters such as:
Document labels
Agreement type
Existing extracted properties
💡 Best Practice: Use labels as your primary way to categorize documents — this makes filtering in reports fast and reliable.
Step 2: Use Built-In Prompts or Create a New Property
Once your document set is selected, you can extract insights in two ways:
Option A: Use an Existing Prompt
Open the Prompt Library inside the report.
Select a prompt you want to run.
Click Run Aline AI or the ▶️ play button.
Option B: Create a New Property
If you need something custom:
Click Create New Property.
Name your property (for example, Non-Solicitation Clause).
Enter your prompt or analysis instructions.
Choose the output type:
Text
Boolean (Yes / No)
Date
Multi-select (e.g., Net 30 / Net 60 / Net 90)
Click Run Aline AI.
Multi-select outputs are especially useful for structured terms like payment schedules or notice periods.
Step 3: Test Before Running at Scale
Before analyzing hundreds or thousands of documents:
Select a small subset of documents.
Run your prompts on that sample first.
Review the results and refine your prompts if needed.
Once validated, run the analysis across the full document set.
⚠️ Testing ensures accuracy and saves time when running large-scale reports.
Step 4: Review Results and Source Citations
When results are returned:
Hover over a cell to see a summary of the AI’s response.
If a result is marked Yes, click the document icon to:
Open the document
Jump directly to the relevant clause
Blue citation markers link to the exact source text used by the AI.
This makes it easy to verify findings and drill into specific agreements.
Step 5: Use Existing Fields as Inputs
You can also build more advanced properties using existing extracted fields as inputs.
For example:
Create a property called Unfavorable Payment Terms
Use Payment Term and Payment Frequency as inputs
Run Aline AI to generate a combined assessment
This allows for layered, contextual analysis across multiple data points.
Step 6: Exporting Reports
You can export Aline reports as a CSV or Excel file by clicking on ACTIONS on the top left and selecting the type of file you'd like to export.
